Multiple events close CK streets on Sunday

Chatham drivers may need to find alternate routes on Sunday.

There will be a number of events throughout the day, which will close city streets.

The Nagar Kirtan special event will have participants walking through Chatham twice.

From 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. the route will begin at Gurdwara Sikh Lehar International on King Street East.

Participants will proceed west along King Street East, north on William Street North, west on Stanley Avenue, and conclude at Tecumseh Park.

The parade will reform at Tecumseh Park at 2 p.m. then go east on Stanley Avenue, south on William Street North, east on Murray Street, south on Princess Street, east on King Street East, and end at Gurdwara Sikh Lehar International at 2:30 p.m.

The Our Lady of Grace Walk also takes place on Sunday.

The special event, hosted by St. Ursula's Church, will take place from 3:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

The walk will start at St. Ursula's Church on Tweedsmuir Avenue West. Participants will proceed east on Tweedsmuir Avenue West, south on Lacroix Street, west on Kenny Avenue, north on Faubert Drive, and end up back at the church.

Police will be present for the events to ensure the safety of the participants.
