Entegrus warns customers of phone scam

Entegrus customers are being warned to be cautious of a phone scam claiming they have to pay a bill to avoid disconnection.

In a social media post Thursday evening, the company said they have received multiple reports about people posing as Entegrus employees demanding payment for reconnection during planned or unplanned work.

"Entegrus has been made aware of business customers receiving fraudulent phone calls this evening, claiming a bill must be paid immediately to avoid disconnection," read a post on social media.

Customers who receive an email, text message, or phone call from someone posing as an Entegrus employee demanding payment are urged to not respond.

In light of the recent fraudulent activity, the company also said an employee would never come to your door to sell services or ask for your account information.

"If you receive a visit from an individual asking to see your utility bill to ensure you're receiving the best rates, to check your water valves or water heater, or to 'install a piece of equipment' on the electrical panel," read a statement. "Entegrus is not affiliated with any companies such as these and will never ask to see your bill."

Residents can contact Entegrus directly at 1-866-804-7325.
