Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is looking for more employees and will host a job fair on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
The job fair at the John Bradley Convention Centre at 565 Richmond Street in Chatham will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and hospital officials say everyone is welcome, even if you're just looking for information about the profession.
CKHA said the job fair will offer information on all employment opportunities across the entire organization, including clinical positions such as nursing and personal support workers, as well as allied health professions such as respiratory therapists, physiotherapists, and laboratory and diagnostic imaging technologists/technicians.
CKHA is also looking for workers in housekeeping, medical device reprocessing, registration, the patient appointment office, nutrition services.
Retiring CKHA CEO Lori Marshall added the job fair is also a great opportunity for those who are thinking about getting into the healthcare profession down the road.
"Absolutely, we are looking to fill positions for our current organization and also hoping to inspire some hearts and minds for the future to consider careers in healthcare," Marshall said.
CKHA’s leadership team and staff will be available to offer more information on the hospital’s programs and services and the application process.

CKHA's Vice President of Transformation and Chief Nursing Executive Meredith Whitehead said the hospital's overall vacancy rate has dropped again to 6.24 per cent in February compared to approximately 8 per cent a year ago. The vacancy rate for Registered Nurses at CKHA is also down to 8.7 per cent from 10.45 per cent the previous month, which Whitehead said is much lower than the provincial average of around 15 per cent last year.
"If you know somebody who is interested in a career in healthcare, this job fair is the easiest gateway to discover the range of opportunities we have in our buildings," said Whitehead.
CKHA has approximately 1,400 staff and 200 physicians to handle its 200 beds.
Advanced registration is not required for the job fair and the Bradley Convention Centre has free parking.
