Two youths face charges after aggressive driving incident in CK

Charges have been laid against two youths after reports of aggressive driving just outside of Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said they responded to a report of an aggressive driver on Wednesday on Communication Road overtaking vehicles in a dangerous manner and stopped the vehicle on Chatham Street North in Blenheim with a 14-year-old behind the wheel and the 16-year-old registered owner in the back seat.

The 14-year-old driver was given a ticket for driving without a license, while the 16-year-old owner was issued a summons for allowing an unlicensed person to drive and allowing a person under 16 to drive.

"We remind the public to verify the qualifications and age of anyone driving their vehicle to ensure compliance with licensing regulations and prioritize road safety," said Chatham-Kent Police Public Information Officer Lynnette Rosina in a news release on Thursday afternoon.
