Stellantis has recalled more than 10,000 Dodge Chargers and Chrysler 300's because of defective airbags.
The company said an estimated 10,285 of the Dodge and Chrysler sedans between 2018 to 2021 have been recalled because of the side airbag inflator.
The automaker also said if the airbag has too much force it can explode and hurl metal fragments at the passenger and driver which can cause injury.
It said during an investigation it found certain vehicles that the inflators had moisture because of a manufacturing defect.
The company said the moisture may lead to stress corrosion and potential rupture.
Stellantis added that it is unaware of any related injuries or accidents.
Five incidents have been investigated when the vehicle's interior temperature reached 120 Fahrenheit.
The company also said the defect is estimated to be in less than one per cent of the recall population.
Meanwhile, the defect is impacting around 318,000 Dodge Chargers and Chrysler 300's globally, many in the United States.
