Man charged following arson investigation in Wallaceburg

A 44-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been arrested in connection with an arson investigation in Wallaceburg.

Emergency crews responded to a structure fire on Wills Street in Wallaceburg at around 9:49 p.m. on Saturday.

The blaze was deemed to be a case of arson and the investigation was handed over to the Chatham-Kent Police Service's Criminal Investigation Branch for further investigation.

Police said a suspect was identified and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The 44-year-old was arrested in Wallaceburg on Wednesday and transported to police headquarters.

He is charged with arson with disregard for human life.
