Brochu gets another shot at cracking an AHL roster

Tilbury's Brett Brochu has signed a professional tryout contract with the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL).

The 21-year-old goaltender played in 16 games for the Fort Wayne Komets in the ECHL this season. He went 6-8-1, with one shutout, a 2.76 goals against average (GAA), and a .920 save percentage.

This will be Brochu's second appearance in the AHL. He played one game for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins back in 2021, a 5-2 road loss to the Hershey Bears in which Brochu stopped 31 of the 36 shots he faced.

He played three seasons with the London Knights in the OHL and he also played for Team Canada at the 2022 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.
