Windsor man wanted for theft turned over to Chatham-Kent police

Chatham-Kent police were given a heads up Monday night by their counterparts in Windsor that they had a wanted man in their custody.

The man, a 24-year-old from Windsor, was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

He is facing charges for vehicle theft and break and enter.

Chatham man arrested for probation violation

A 31-year-old Chatham man with an outstanding warrant in Sarnia has been arrested after officers caught up with him Monday afternoon.

Police say they ran into the man on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.

The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a probation order.

He transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Man turns himself in to police months after missing court date

A 21-year-old Tilbury man is facing a handful of charges after turning himself in to police on Monday.

In May of last year, the man was arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to comply with a recognizance, and impaired driving.

He was released with a condition to attend the Ontario Criminal Court of Justice in early June for fingerprinting.

When he failed to show up, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Monday afternoon, the man turned himself in at police headquarters.

The 21-year-old was additionally charged with failing to attend for fingerprints.

Wheatley Water Treatment Plant well on its way to recovery

The Chatham-Kent Public Utilities Commission (CK PUC) says work to restore the Wheatley Water Treatment Plant will begin in mid-October in order to have the facility up and running by next summer.
