Driving complaint leads to multiple charges
A Belle River man has been charged with impaired driving and failure to comply with police.
Chatham-Kent police received a call about a drunk driver around 7 p.m. on Saturday. When officers arrived on the scene the reported vehicle was observed and stopped.
"When the vehicle was located and stopped the driver attempted to hide in the back of the vehicle, claiming to be a passenger and not the driver," police said.
The 55-year-old was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he refused to undergo further testing. He was later released with a court date of March 4, 2024.

Man faces two counts of failing to comply with a release order
A 44-year-old man who can't get enough of a Wallaceburg business is now facing the consequences.
The man had court conditions not to go to a McNaughton Avenue business but went there twice on Saturday. He managed to avoid the police on his first visit but was arrested the second time.
The Wallaceburg man has been charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Neighbourly dispute leads to charges
A verbal argument between Mary Street neighbours ended with an arrest.
Chatham-Kent police arrested a 58-year-old woman after she allegedly threatened to harm her neighbour.
She is facing a charge of threatening bodily harm and was released from police custody with a March 18 court date.

Man arrested for loitering at police station
A 27-year-old man is facing a charge of breaching the peace.
The man spent an extended period of time hanging around the front foyer of Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and became aggressive with officers after being asked to leave.
Police held the man in custody until he calmed down and was no longer a concern.
