The Lambton Kent District School Board and St. Clair Catholic District School Board will be moving their April PA days to coincide with the upcoming solar eclipse.
The boards say the Professional Activity Day scheduled for Friday, April 26 will be rescheduled to Monday, April 8.
In a joint release, the boards say the decision was made with safety in mind, as the eclipse is set to affect the region between 2 and 4:30 p.m. on April 8.
"Solar eclipses and similar natural environmental occurrences have, historically, resulted in a large number of tourists visiting the area. This poses a significant number of safety issues for our students and bus drivers who will be leaving schools and travelling on the roads during the time of the eclipse," read the release.
The move is in line with other area school boards, who have already moved their PA days to April 8.
