CK police briefs - Friday, February 9, 2024

Chatham-Kent police responded to 206 calls for service in the last 24 hours and arrested five people, including four individuals who were wanted for either failing to attend court or breaching their bail conditions.

Police said a 42-year-old woman was arrested in Wallaceburg on Thursday while officers were investigating an unrelated matter. The woman was known to be wanted and was arrested on outstanding charges of theft and possession of stolen property, according to police.

Officers also arrested a 37-year-old Chatham woman on Tuesday who promised to follow her release conditions to not contact her ex-spouse. Police said two days later she turned herself in at Chatham-Kent police headquarters for contacting her ex-spouse and violating her release conditions.

Then on Friday, a 40-year-old woman from Chatham was arrested for failing to attend court multiple times on theft charges.

A 19-year-old Chatham man also turned himself on Thursday for failing to attend court several times on charges of uttering threats and theft, said police.
