Bottles for Books total announced

The Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent has announced how much was raised during its Bottles for Books fundraiser.

On January 6, the organization held a bottle drive that raised $1060.

According to the club, the money raised will be going towards The Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

The project is aimed at fostering a love for reading among children by providing age-appropriate books directly in their homes.

"The Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent acknowledges the community's commitment to education and literacy, and these generous donations will play a crucial role in advancing the goals of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library," the organization said in a news release.

The club added it is grateful for the donations.

"Every donation, no matter the size, has a direct impact on our ability to make a positive difference in the lives of children in Chatham-Kent," it also said.

The organization will be hosting another bottle drive this spring.
