A local social services organization is closing its employment program in Wallaceburg.
Community Living Wallaceburg will be winding down its Employment Services program over the next couple of weeks before it officially closes on February 29.
“For over 20 years, Community Living Wallaceburg’s Employment Services Program has had the privilege of supporting hundreds of people with disabilities and other employment-related barriers to secure meaningful employment," said Acting Executive Director Roger Romses. "We are truly proud of the contributions this service has made in Wallaceburg and across Chatham-Kent, building inclusivity and equal opportunity for everyone within the workforce.”
According to the organization, the agency’s priority during this transition has been minimizing any service disruption to current clients and employer partners with a focus on facilitating referrals to other designated service providers.
“We know that meaningful employment has the potential to significantly improve someone’s quality of life, and people with diverse abilities have so much to offer in the workplace," said Romses. "Our Agency is grateful for all the hard-working clients and dedicated employer partners we have had the pleasure of working with throughout the years."
