Two men arrested for robbery after a night out
Two Chatham men in their 20s are facing a handful of charges after they allegedly robbed some people who they had been hanging out with.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the residence on Wellington Street West in Chatham shortly after 6:30 a.m. Sunday for a robbery investigation and learned that the victims had gone back to the apartment after spending a night out.
Officers said shortly after the victims returned to the apartment, the two men showed up with guns, demanded money and other valuable items, and then left the apartment with the items.
Police said the two men had also spent the evening with the victims before the robbery.
Officers said they were able to find the two men on O'Neil Street in Chatham and arrested them.
A 21-year-old Chatham man and a 23-year-old Chatham man were both charged with break and enter with intent to commit robbery, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a dangerous weapon.
They were both taken to police headquarters pending a bail hearing and were later transferred to the Southwest Regional Detention Center as a result of that hearing.
They were set to appear in court again on Monday.

Man arrested for throwing a rock through library window
A 32-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been arrested and charged with mischief after he allegedly broke a window at the Chatham-Kent Public Library.
Police said they were called to the building on Queen Street South in Chatham just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday for a mischief investigation and learned that someone had thrown a rock through a window.
Officers said they were able to track down a suspect and believed that he was under the influence of an "intoxicating substance."
The accused was arrested and charged with mischief and was taken to police headquarters.
He was held until he sobered up and was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Disturbance call leads police to wanted woman
A heated argument in Wallaceburg ended up tipping off police to a wanted woman.
CK police said they were called to the address on Margaret Avenue shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday for a disturbance and found the man and woman who were arguing.
Officers said they learned that the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant, so she was arrested and taken to police headquarters where she was set to be held pending a bail hearing.
Police said the woman is currently facing several charges -- including one count each of break and enter, mischief, possession of stolen property, and three counts of failing to comply with her release conditions.

Man wanted since the end of August arrested in Chatham
Chatham-Kent police have caught up with a 54-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for skipping court at the end of August last year.
And officers found him on the same street where he was arrested the first time.
Police said the man was initially arrested on July 26 last year after officers were called in for a threat investigation.
Officers said they released the man with conditions and a future court date, but a bench warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to show up for that.
Police said they caught up with the man at 8:15 p.m. Sunday on Fifth Street and arrested him.
He was later released with a future court date at the end of February.

Man accused of aggravated assault arrested again, released again
A 39-year-old Chatham man who is facing mischief and aggravated assault charges is back on the street after a brief stay with CK police.
An officer on general patrol arrested the man shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday after seeing him on Wellington Street West in Chatham and confirming that the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.
The accused was later released with a new court date.

Rear-end crash on Hwy 401 off-ramp leads to impaired driving charge
A 21-year-old Toronto resident is facing a pair of charges after a rear-end crash on the Bloomfield Road off-ramp of the Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.
OPP with the Chatham detachment said they were called to the two-vehicle crash just before 1 p.m. Sunday and learned that a passenger vehicle had collided with another vehicle at the stop sign of the Bloomfield Road off-ramp.
Officers had also received multiple traffic complaints about that same vehicle.
Police said when they spoke with the driver of the vehicle that caused the crash, they suspected the driver was impaired, so they took the driver to the Middlesex OPP detachment and administered a Drug Recognition Evaluation.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle (alcohol and drugs) along with dangerous driving.
The driver's license was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was set to be impounded for seven days.
No serious injuries were reported.
