Total local rainfall amounts near 30 to 45 mm.

Timing:
Beginning late this afternoon or this evening tapering off through Wednesday morning.

Discussion:
Showers are expected to push into the region through the afternoon as a moisture laden system moves into the Great Lakes Basin. The showers are expected to become more widespread and heavy at times tonight along with the risk for thunderstorms as a more unstable air mass moves in. Showers will continue into Wednesday morning but are expected to become more isolated and ease off in intensity. Some areas may potentially receive in excess of 45 mm and may require to be upgraded to a rainfall warning. There still remains a high degree of uncertainty on where the heaviest rain will setup.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue says damage from a house fire in Wheatley is pegged at $50,000.Fire officials said fire crews were dispatched to 21104 Erie Street South in Wheatley Thursday night just after 11 p.m.CK Fire spokesperson Whitney Burk said the cause is undetermined.Burk said the abandoned house was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived and crews had to take a defensive approach to extinguish the flames.She noted an excavator was also brought to the scene to assist.No injuries were reported.<img src="https://media.mynewstoday.ca/i/x9lyEEqB/740" alt />Abandoned house fire in Wheatley.
