What's open and closed in Chatham-Kent this Civic Holiday?

While many look for things to do to keep busy this Civic Holiday weekend, there are a few closures across Chatham-Kent to look out for.

Municipal offices and most services will be closed Monday, Aug. 7 in recognition of the holiday.

All Ride CK Transit services will not operate Monday.

The Chatham Capitol Theatre, Kiwanis Theatre, Chatham Cultural Centre, Chatham-Kent Museum, Ridge House Museum, Thames Art Gallery, and ARTspace will be closed Monday.

However, the Milner House will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Chatham and Dresden Service Ontario locations and Employment and Social Services will be closed on Monday.

Residents can call the Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6628 for homeless emergencies within Chatham-Kent.

All pools will be open on Monday. Rec swims are free all summer long at all municipal pools.

Garbage and recycling collections will be delayed by one day during the week of August 7.

Police, fire, and ambulance will continue to operate 24 hours a day, every day, and are accessible by dialing “911” for emergency calls only.

The Fire Administration office will be closed on Monday, August 7, and re-open on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 8:30 a.m.

Some healthcare services offered at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will be altered for the Civic Holiday on Monday.

The Chatham-Kent Mental Health and Addictions Program Outpatient Department and the Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine clinic will be closed on Monday. Residents can call the crisis line at 1-866-299-7447.  

The Emergency Departments at the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will remain open 24 hours daily.

Hemodialysis Care will be open.
