A crash involving a transport truck on Highway 401 to the west of London sent four people to hospital, one with life-threatening injuries.
Emergency crews were called to the eastbound lanes of the highway just west of Iona Road in Dutton-Dunwich just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, where a transport truck had hit a disabled vehicle.
Three people in the vehicle were taken to hospital. Two suffered non-life threatening injuries, while the third suffered life-threatening injuries. The trucker was also taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, Elgin OPP said.
The crash temporarily closed a section of the eastbound 401 while the OPP west region traffic incident management and enforcement team was on scene. It has since reopened.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
Anyone with information about the collision, including dashcam footage, is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-84777 (TIPS).
