The S'Aints sleighing hunger with $114,786 donation

This year's Sleighing Hunger Charity Concert has raised a record-setting $114,786 for food banks in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.

The funds were raised through ticket sales and donations from Caesars Windsor Cares and St. Clair College.

The money will be split between the Windsor Essex Food Bank Association, which is comprised of 15 local food banks and Chatham Outreach for Hunger.

"It is amazing, this grows just year after year, as do our numbers for people coming in looking for assistance. This is going to go a long ways in meeting that need and making sure that our food insecure families have what they need going into the new year," said Brenda LeClair, executive director of Chatham Outreach for Hunger.

The S'Aints will perform at the Colosseum at Caesars Windsor at 8 p.m. Friday. Limited tickets are still available.

"It's super exciting, especially after COVID and then last year we had to cancel because of weather. This year, the weather looks good... we're bringing back every element to the show. It's going to be, I think, the best show to date, we're feeling really good about it," said S'Aints band member Kelly Howell.

This is the 14th year the S'Aints have developed a Christmas album and performed a concert for charity. The band has raised $557,320 in that time.
