UPDATE: CKHA's Mock Code Orange is cancelled

The mock Code Orange emergency preparedness exercise scheduled for Wednesday, September 20th at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s (CKHA) Emergency Departments (ED) has been cancelled.

Due to the current high volumes within the Chatham and Wallaceburg EDs, the emergency simulation will be rescheduled for the near future.

A Code Orange is called in the event of an external disaster, including natural disasters, multiple vehicle accidents, or event disasters, which would send a surge of people to the hospital for medical attention.

Mock emergency scenarios provide an opportunity for CKHA and its partners to train together in a real environment and ensure that they are prepared for any type of emergency scenario.

Emergency exercises also allow the hospital to test its emergency procedures, identify gaps, and make appropriate changes.
