Wallaceburg men face charges after crash in Belle River

The Ontario Provincial Police has charged two Wallaceburg men after a crash in Lakeshore on Wednesday.

Police and paramedics responded to a two-vehicle collision in Belle River. The crash was on South Street at the railroad tracks south of Adelaide Street.

While speaking with the driver and a passenger in one of the vehicles, the officer realized they were violating previous court orders. The driver also appeared to be impaired.

Two men, aged 37 and 38, were arrested.

The driver is charged with the operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, failure to comply with a prohibition order, failure to comply with an undertaking, stopping on a roadway, and failure to surrender an insurance card.

The passenger faces failure to comply with a prohibition order and failure to comply with probation order charges.

The charges have not been proven in court.
