Woman wanted after gas-and-dash

Chatham-Kent police are asking for the public's help to identify the woman pictured below in connection with a theft investigation.

Police said the woman allegedly showed up at the Superstore Gas Bar on St. Clair Street in Chatham on August 30, fuelled up the vehicle she was driving, and then took off without paying.

Officers have released a pair of images in the hopes that you can help them identify her.

If you know anything that could help police with the investigation, you are asked to contact Constable Shaide Pallister at shaidep@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600.

You can also submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Theft investigation at Shopper's Drug Mart in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police are asking for your help to identify the people pictured below after a theft was reported at Shopper’s Drug Mart on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

Police said the men in the images below allegedly took some items from the store's shelves, hid them, and then left without paying for them.

Police find fentanyl, knife on a man sitting in a rental truck

A 36-year-old Chatham man is facing a trio of charges after he was allegedly seen smoking a suspected controlled substance inside a rental truck in a parking lot on Riverview Drive in Chatham.

CK police said they got a tip about that just after 11 p.m. Thursday and arrested the man.

When police searched him, they also allegedly found some suspected fentanyl and a knife on him.

Officers confirmed that the man was bound by a probation order that banned him from carrying any weapons.

The accused was charged with impaired driving, drug possession, and failing to comply with a probation order.

He was taken to police headquarters and was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Parked vehicle turns out to be stolen

A 25-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly parked a stolen vehicle on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.

Police said an officer on general patrol checked the license plate on the vehicle after finding it at around 10:30 a.m. Thursday and learned that the license associated with the vehicle had been reported "missing" and that the vehicle itself had been reported stolen by OPP in Perth County.

Investigators said the officer was able to identify the person who parked the vehicle, which was then seized for a forensic examination.

Police couldn't track the suspect down right away, but he turned himself in at the Wallaceburg police station shortly after 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

He was charged with possession of stolen property and was taken to police headquarters before he was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Chatham man arrested for harassment

A 33-year-old Chatham man is facing a criminal harassment charge after he allegedly showed up at a woman's home even though she told him to stay away.

Police said they were called to an address in Chatham for that investigation at around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Officers said they were able to find the man and arrested him.

He was taken to police headquarters, charged with criminal harassment, and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Shoplifter arrested for stealing from Chatham store

A 41-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing a pair of charges after he allegedly took some items from a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham and left without paying for them.

Police said they were called to the business shortly before 10:30 a.m. Thursday and learned that the man returned all of the items when he was approached by store employees outside.

Officers found the man a short distance away and arrested him.

He was charged with theft and possession of stolen property and was taken to police headquarters, then later released with conditions and a future court date.
