Special announcement in Wheatley

Some good news could be on the way for the town of Wheatley.

A press release from the municipality of Chatham-Kent said a special announcement will be made on Wednesday, August 23 at 1 p.m.

It added that representatives from the Ontario provincial government, as well as local municipal staff, will be in attendance.

That announcement will take place in downtown Wheatley on Elm Street in front of the municipal parking lot, but if there is bad weather, it will be moved to Fire Hall 20 on Talbot Road.

A detailed media release will be shared following the announcement.

No word on what the announcement will be about, although it could be in regard to the Methane Hydrogen Sulfide gas (H2S) explosion on Erie St. North on August 26, 2021.
