Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman TJ Brodie and his wife, Amber DeBakker, have partnered with MS Canada and A&W to raise money for this year's "Burgers to Beat MS Day" campaign.
The 15th annual fundraiser to support those living with multiple sclerosis (MS) will be held on Thursday, August 17.
The campaign will see A&W Canada donate $2 from every Teen Burger sold to MS Canada. Teen Burgers can be purchased for the cause via dine-in, take-out, the A&W mobile app, and third-party delivery partners.
DeBakker was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2016. She and Brodie, who's originally from Chatham-Kent, have since taken part in fundraising events to help raise awareness.
Approximately one in every 400 Canadians live with MS and Canada has one of the highest rates of the disease in the world.
Over the years, Burgers to Beat MS has raised more than $19 million.
This year's goal is to raise $2 million.
