Chatham-Kent police are looking for whoever stole a Pride flag, this time from Wheatley Area Public School.

Police say the theft took place sometime between Friday, June 23, 2023, and Monday, June 26, 2023. Someone damaged the locking mechanism and removed the flag from the school's flagpole and police investigators are asking the public for help with their investigation.

"The Chatham Kent Police Service takes this matter seriously and is committed to investigating this incident thoroughly," CK said police in a news release. "We thank the public for their cooperation and support in this matter."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the investigating officer, Constable Alexis Masse, at alexisma@chatham-kent.ca or by calling 519-436-6600. The public can also submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Pride flags have been targeted several times lately throughout Chatham-Kent and other municipalities.
