Young driver dies in single-vehicle crash

A 21-year-old from Wallaceburg has died in a single-vehicle collision, just east of Port Lambton.

Lambton OPP said officers and paramedics with Chatham-Kent EMS responded to a collision on Lambton Line at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

The roadway was closed for several hours, between Highway 40 and Baseline Road, for an investigation.

OPP said the driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the cause of the collision has yet to be determined.

Police said the driver's identity will not be released.
