Chatham-Kent police are crediting a concerned citizen with helping them to pull a banned driver off the road, again.

Police said they pulled the driver over on Bear Line Road in Dover Township at around 2:20 p.m. Monday while they were responding to a traffic complaint.

The officer who was carrying out the traffic stop believed the man was driving while impaired, so he was arrested.

The officer also allegedly confirmed that the man's driver's license was suspended and that he was banned from driving.

The 65-year-old Dover Centre man was taken back to police headquarters for breath tests and he was later charged with six counts of driving while banned along with one count each of impaired driving and driving under suspension.

He was later released with conditions and a future court date, but his vehicle was towed and was set to be impounded for 45 days.
