Chatham ringette team wraps up perfect season as regional champs

The u16 Chatham Thunder ringette team finished its 2022-2023 season by winning the regional championship.

Heading into the tournament in Kitchener this past weekend, the team hadn't lost a single game all year, going 32-0-2, while winning tournaments in London, St. Marys, and Ottawa.

The Chatham Thunder opened with a 3-1 victory over Elora-Fergus. Next was London, the only team they tied, but the Thunder dominated London 7-0 in game two. Then Chatham beat Kitchener 4-1 in the final round-robin game.

The Thunder then advanced to the finals where they shutout St. Marys 3-0 to finish the season undefeated while claiming the Western Region U16b title.
