Man breaks into shed and steals ladder

Police are searching for a male suspect after they were called to a break and enter at a Park Street residence.

Around 9 a.m. on Saturday, a man allegedly forced his way into a shed and stole a ladder before leaving on a blue bicycle. The suspect was captured on camera.

The man is described as 25- to 30-years-old with a bald head and facial hair. He wore a red and black checkered jacket at the time of the incident.

Arrest made after shoplifting complaint

Police arrested a 33-year-old man as a result of a shoplifting complaint from Shoppers Drug Mart in Wallaceburg.

At about 10 a.m., a man reportedly concealed several items and left the store making no attempt to pay for the merchandise. The suspect was located a short distance away by an officer on general patrol. His identity was verified by store security, according to police.

The Wallaceburg man has been charged with three counts of theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen goods valued under $5,000. The accused is released from custody and will appear in court on March 27.

Man charged with theft at Chatham drug store

A 27-year-old Chatham resident has been charged after items were stolen from a Shoppers Drug Mart on St. Clair Street.

Police received a shoplifting complaint around 1 p.m. on Saturday alleging a man had concealed several items on his person and left the store. The suspect was known to one of the employees, according to police.

Officers were able to locate the suspect and charged him with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
