Man arrested for threatening woman during domestic argument

A 29-year-old Chatham man is facing a handful of charges after he allegedly threatened a woman while he was arguing with her in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to investigate the incidents just before 5 p.m. Wednesday on Park Avenue East in Chatham.

Officers said they learned that the man had contacted the woman after she left an argument with him. At that time, the man allegedly threatened to harm the woman. He had also reportedly previously threatened to damage her vehicle and other personal property during other recent arguments with her.

A 29-year-old Chatham man was charged with one count of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and three counts of uttering threats to cause property damage.

He was taken back to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Law enforcement catches up with wanted man

A 51-year-old Chatham man is in more trouble with the law after he allegedly failed to comply with his probation order.

CK police said he was wanted on a warrant that was issued on February 13 and that officers picked him up on King Street East in Chatham at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The accused was taken back to police headquarters, charged, and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Woman arrested during traffic stop

A traffic stop on Base Line in Zone Township brought police to a local woman who was wanted for failing to attend court.

CK police said they pulled the vehicle over just after 12:30 a.m. Thursday and found the woman inside.

She was arrested, taken to police headquarters, and later released with conditions and a future court date.
