Gusty winds to bring spring-like temperatures

Gusty winds are expected to blow through southern Ontario on Wednesday as temperatures rise, making it feel like late March or early April.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for several areas on Tuesday including Sarnia-Lambton, London-Middlesex, Chatham-Kent, Windsor-Essex, Huron-Perth, Elgin, and Oxford counties.

The national weather agency said strong wind gusts around 80 kilometres per hour are expected to begin late Wednesday morning.

Rising temperatures will contribute to the windy weather as temperatures are expected to jump into the mid-double digits.

However, by Friday, temperatures are expected to drop below 0 Celsius.

Environment Canada is reminding residents that the strong winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. The windy conditions could also affect driving conditions.
