School bus routes across Chatham-Kent are being cancelled in anticipation of a heavy snowfall that is expected to hit the region.
CLASS Shared School Services Chatham-Kent issued the cancellations for Zones 1-8, but elementary schools are still open and UCC Chatham is still open. Lambton-Kent District School Board secondary school buildings are closed and will move to remote learning for the day.
Environment Canada upgraded the special weather statement for Chatham-Kent to a snowfall warning Wednesday morning.
Forecasters are calling for around 15 centimetres of snow to fall throughout the day Wednesday, adding that when the snow starts falling, it could be heavy at times.
The worst of it is expected to start Wednesday morning and then continue right through the afternoon.
