Man arrested for public intoxication 

A 22-year-old man from Dresden will have to answer to a public intoxication charge after getting arrested in Wallaceburg.

Around 1:43 p.m. Tuesday, Chatham-Kent police were called to Dufferin Avenue.

Officers located the man once they arrived and said he was allegedly intoxicated and unable to care for himself.

He was arrested and taken back to police headquarters where he was held until he was sober.

Police search for stolen items 

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips after an SUV was reported stolen in Chatham

According to police, a gold/beige 2007 GMC Arcadia was taken from a parking lot on Park Avenue East sometime since December 23.

The vehicle's license plate is CRHL 988.

Elsewhere, police are looking for a stolen trailer.

Sometime between Christmas Day and Boxing Day, a black enclosed trailer was stolen from an outbuilding on McCreary Line in Chatham Township.

According to police, the trailer is dual axel with chrome fenders, and it has “Legend” and “Thunder Aluminum Trailers” decals on the sides and the back.

Man arrested for failing to comply with release order 

A 57-year-old Wallaceburg man is in trouble with the law after a traffic stop.

Shortly after 3 a.m. Wednesday, police pulled over a vehicle on Baseline in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned the court previously released the man with conditions to remain in his residence between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. except for specific circumstances. He was arrested, and the vehicle was towed.

The man was charged with failing to comply with a release order. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
