Chatham woman stopped for stunt driving

A 58-year-old Chatham woman is facing a stunt driving charge after she was allegedly recorded driving the equivalent of her age above the speed limit.

Chatham-Kent police said they recorded the vehicle going 118 kilometres an hour in a 60 km/h zone on Grand River Line in Dover Township at 3:15 p.m. Sunday.

The driver was handed a court summons along with a 30-day license suspension.

Her vehicle was taken away and was set to be impounded for 14 days.

Woman wanted after Tilbury theft turns herself in

A 20-year-old Chatham woman is facing charges in connection with a theft investigation in Tilbury.

Chatham-Kent police said the woman was identified as a suspect in the case on Friday after officers reviewed some surveillance video.

Police said the woman turned herself in at CK police headquarters just before 7 p.m. Sunday.

She was charged with two counts of theft and two counts of possession of stolen property and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Man wanted for failing to attend court

Chatham-Kent police can cross another name off their wanted list.

Police said a 47-year-old Walpole Island man who was wanted for failing to attend court was arrested just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Officers found him while they were responding to a report of some suspicious activity on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.

Police said the man was taken to police headquarters and after the warrant was fulfilled, he was released unconditionally.
