A family won't be home for the holidays after a fire gutted a house just outside of Thamesville on Friday morning.
Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services said the fire at 12533 River Line started just after 6 a.m. and caused an estimated $600,000 in damage.
Firefighters from Thamesville, Chatham South, and Ridgetown responded to the blaze.
No one was injured.
The cause is unknown at this time.
