A Windsor-based director will be bringing his award-winning film to a Chatham screen next month.
The Chatham-Kent Film Group's October screening is set to feature Last Call, a single-take feature film shot and directed in Windsor.
According to members of the Chatham-Kent Film Group, the film was originally supposed to be shown in April 2020 but was put on pause because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We’re super excited about it as it’s a unique experience for the group and for Chatham in general," said CK Film Group Chair Angela Corso.
Last Call explores the relationship between two strangers who are thrown together in an environment of mounting crisis after a late-night janitor accidentally answers a call from a man who believes he has dialled a suicide prevention hotline.

"I'm looking forward to watching the movie on the big screen," said Director Gavin Michael Booth. "I famously never watch my movies and I get a little nervous watching my movies with an audience. So, I think I am going to enjoy being able to sit and watch the movie that I haven't seen in a couple of years."
Booth spent his early years growing up in Amherstburg and was fascinated with Star Wars and Steven Spielberg films.
From using his parents' 8mm film camera to using the editing suite in high school, Booth's passion for writing and storytelling has always been his focus. Throughout the course of his career, he has worn many hats including directing, camera operating, producing, editing, and even a bit of acting.
"There's definitely been some big pinch-me moments along the way of my accomplishments, experiences, and the travelling that I have been able to have from putting my ideas pen to paper and then to making movies," said Booth.
The October 3 screening will feature two showings, the first at 4 p.m. followed by another at 7 p.m., at Galaxy Cinemas in Chatham.
The audience will also have a chance to speak with Booth after each screening during a question and answer period.
Tickets are $10 at the door for new members and free of charge for anyone who had a membership in 2019-2020.
