Man arrested for skipping out on court-ordered DNA test 

A 36-year-old Chatham man is in even more trouble with the law after skipping out on a court-ordered DNA test.

Chatham-Kent police said a warrant for his arrest was issued after he failed to attend to provide a sample of his DNA.

Officers located the man around 11:19 a.m. on Victoria Avenue in Chatham.

He was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

He was later released.

Road safety blitz lands several drivers in trouble 

A road safety blitz in Chatham landed several drivers in trouble.

Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Traffic Unit and the Ministry of Transportation conducted a traffic enforcement blitz, with a total of 12 tickets and six summonses issued.

One person was arrested for driving while prohibited, another had their vehicle impounded for 45 days.

Authorities remind drivers that road safety is everyone’s responsibility.
