Maroons win game 2 to even up series

The Chatham Maroons dominated the Leamington Flyers 6-1 to even up the GOJHL Western Conference Final.

Cameron Symons scored the first goal of the game for the Maroons at 5:02 in the first period, but the Flyers tied it up with a shorthanded goal from Connor MacPherson.

Leamington couldn't find the back of the net after that, though, as Cameron Welch scored the game-winner for Chatham on the powerplay 1:36 in the second period -- his first of two goals in the game.

David Brown, Owen Sculthrop, and Cameron Graham also added goals for the Maroons and goaltender Nolan DeKoning made 36 saves to get the win.

The series is tied at one, with game three set for tonight in Leamington at 7:10 p.m.
