Chatham man accused of stealing propane tank

A 45-year-old Chatham man has been arrested and charged after police found him carrying around a propane tank that had allegedly been stolen from a local business.

Chatham-Kent police said they found the man with the propane tank at around 3:30 p.m. Sunday and learned that it had been stolen.

As a result, the man was charged with theft and possession of stolen property and later released pending a future court date.

Man accused of breaking bail conditions

A 27-year-old Wallaceburg man is in trouble with the law again after he allegedly contacted a woman he wasn't supposed to communicate with.

Police said the man is accused of reaching out to the woman shortly after he was released from custody on Sunday using a social media app.

Officers said they found the man in Chatham and charged him with failing to comply with his release conditions, which stated that he wasn't supposed to communicate with the woman.

He was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.
