Walk for Alzheimer's to visit communities across Chatham-Kent

After two years of virtual events, the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's is back as an in-person event.

"We wanted to offer something a little bit different this year that connects our communities," said Joel Emery, the Fund Development and Admin Coordinator for the Alzheimers Society of Chatham-Kent (ASCK). "We're offering four outdoor walks in Tilbury, Blenheim, Chatham, and Wallaceburg. We're also offering a scavenger hunt during the last weekend of May."

The details of the weekly walks are as follows:

- Northside Park Trail (Tilbury) – Wednesday, May 11 from 5:30-7 p.m. - Be-Fit Trail (Blenheim) – Wednesday, May 18 from 5:30-7 p.m. - Crothers Park Trail (Wallaceburg) – Wednesday, May 25 from 5:30-7 p.m. - Kingston Park Trail (Chatham) – Saturday, May 28, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

Last year there was a scavenger hunt, and Emery said it went over so well, that they brought it back this year on the weekend of May 28 and 29.

"Participants will receive what blue treasures they need to find throughout the city of Chatham. They're going to snap pictures of these blue treasures and email those pictures back to me, and then everyone who emails the correct pictures will be put into a draw to win a prize."

The Alzheimers Society of Chatham-Kent has set a fundraising goal of $55,000 for 2022. All of the money raised will ensure that they can continue to safely offer vital programs and services that the 1,000+ local clients and care partners rely on every year.
