COVID-19 claims more lives in CK

Three more COVID-19 deaths are being reported by Chatham-Kent Public Health.

Health unit spokesperson Jeff Moco said a man in his 60s, a woman in her 90s, and a man in his 90s are the latest residents to succumb to the virus. The total number of COVID-19 deaths is now up to 62.

The health unit is also reporting 52 new cases and three active outbreaks, but no new outbreaks. Blenheim Community Village Long Term Care Facility has 24 cases, Chatham Retirement Resort has 12 cases, and an unidentified group home has 7 cases.

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is reporting six COVID-19 patients in the hospital, three of them being treated primarily for the virus, but none in the ICU.

Ontario is reporting 22 new COVID-19 deaths and 2,761 new cases.

The province also said 667 patients are in the hospital with COVID-19 with 161 of them in intensive care and 89 on a ventilator.
