Bluewater Health has made some changes for designated care partners (DCP) for in-patient services because of a decline in the number of active COVID-19 cases at the hospital and across the community.
As a result, visiting hours have returned to 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., vaccinated visitors have in and out privileges, and patients will be allowed up to two DCPs (but only one will be allowed at their bedside at a time).
Rapid tests will continue to be made available for unvaccinated DCPs but they will not have in and out privileges.
The changes came into effect on Thursday.
The hospital said DCP policies for out-patient services, including emergency departments, will remain in place. However, visitor restrictions are being re-assessed on an ongoing basis.
