Police find fentanyl, cocaine, and weapons in bust on Dover Street

A man is facing two dozen charges after Chatham-Kent police seized over $66,000 worth of drugs during a search of a residence on Dover Street in Chatham.

Officers with the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section and Critical Incident Response Team executed a warrant at the residence on Thursday night.

According to police, approximately $66,450 worth of suspected fentanyl and cocaine was seized. Multiple prohibited weapons including brass knuckles, nunchucks, and a switchblade were also allegedly seized.

In addition, police said they found a $3,000 bicycle that had been reported stolen earlier this week located at the residence.

As a result, a 33-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with 18 counts of failing to comply with his probation, release order and weapons prohibition, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of possession of a prohibited weapon and one count of possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

According to police, the man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
