Free recreation swims coming to Blenheim and Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Recreation will be offering multiple free recreation swims at both the Gable Rees Rotary Pool in Blenheim and the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool during the holiday break.

The swims are thanks to generous donations from Friends of Blenheim and Great Erie Salmon & Walleye Hunt in Blenheim and an anonymous donor in Wallaceburg.

“We are thrilled to be able to respond to the increased demand for recreational opportunities within our community with these free swims,” said Director of Child Care, Early Years and Recreation Kelly Emery. “Rec swims are a safe and welcoming space to get active over the holiday break.”

The holiday swim schedule has also been launched. The schedule includes a full slate of aquatic programming either for a lane swim, an adult-only swim, or a parent and tot swim.

All individuals aged 12 and over entering a local recreation facility must provide proof of full vaccination and identification. People feeling sick or ill are being asked to stay home.

Registration is required and it can be completed online or by calling 519-360-1998.

Further information regarding winter programming can be found via Facebook (@CKRecreation) and Instagram (@ck_recreation).
