Industrial accident reported in Tilbury

The Ministry of Labour has been called in to take the lead on an investigation into an industrial accident at a factory in Tilbury.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the scene Wednesday morning, adding that a 46-year-old Chatham man sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Man arrested on witness warrant

A 35-year-old Wallaceburg man who allegedly failed to show up for court Wednesday afternoon ended up getting a police escort to the courthouse.

Police said they picked him up and delivered him to the courts soon after a witness warrant was issued for him.

Man charged with public intoxication

A 31-year-old Chatham man is facing a public intoxication charge after police responded to a suspicious person call Wednesday evening.

Police said they found him in the area of St. Clair Street just before 6 p.m. Wednesday and took him into custody for his own safety.

Officers said he was set to be released when sober.
