Legionnaires fall to Maroons 3-2

The Maroons topped the Sarnia Legionnaires in a close 3-2 game in Chatham on Sunday.

Sarnia scored early in the first period, but Cameron Symons scored 8:22 into the frame to tie the game heading into the second.

Chatham took the lead after Symons quickly scored his second goal of the night, 53 seconds into the second period. However, the Legionnaires were able to tie the game with just over five minutes left in the frame.

The Maroons claimed victory after Cameron Welch scored the only goal 8:33 into the final period.

Maroons goaltender Brenden Stroble made 35 saves out of 33 shots on net.

The Maroons will head to London on Wednesday to take on the Nationals at 7 p.m.
