Bothwell family to host horse competition benefiting Ronald McDonald House

Residents in Bothwell will get their buck's worth at a one-day equine event at Rolling K Ranch grounds this weekend.

Rolling K Ranch will be holding a Ranch Horse Classic competition on October 9 and the proceeds will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario (RMH).

The event is free and the general public is welcome to attend.

"We are all parents and we want to take care of our kids," said the event's announcer Dean Mougenot. "There are so many families who rely on the RMH and if we can help in any way, it will make it that much better for families."

There will be several events for spectators to take in the action, including reining, ranch trail, ranch cutting, and roping.

"We are looking forward to the competitors doing something different," said Mougenot.

Scores will be added up for each horse and rider combination for the day and the top three riders will be awarded a cash payout and other prizes.

"We have lots of great awards available including a very nice custom belt buckle for the winner of the event," the event page read."

The Rolling K Ranch is located at 30528 Zone Road 10 in Bothwell, Ontario. The event kicks off at 10 a.m.
