Residents of southwestern Ontario could be in for some very stormy weather on Tuesday, with the possibility of a tornado.
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for London and Middlesex County, Elgin County, Oxford County, Chatham-Kent, Windsor and Essex County, and Sarnia-Lambton.Early Tuesday evening, the watches were upgraded to warnings in some areas but as of 11 p.m., all alerts have since been downgraded back to watches.
Environment Canada says the biggest threats from the storms are wind gusts of up to 110 kilometres per hour, large hail that could be the size of table tennis balls, heavy rain, and the chance of a tornado developing.
It's expected the threat will pass before midnight.
