COVID-19 case counts rise Wednesday in Midwestern Ontario

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added five new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, two in Chatsworth, and one each in Northern Bruce Peninsula, Saugeen Shores and Owen Sound. There are 18 active cases in, and four residents are hospitalized with the virus.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported seven new cases in Wellington County today, with the number of active cases at 20, including one in Minto. Across Wellington Dufferin Guelph six people are hospitalized with the virus, three of them in intensive care.

Huron Perth Public Health added two new cases Wednesday, in Perth East and South Huron. There are a total of 26 active cases. The death toll increased by one to 61. Six residents are hospitalized with the virus.

Chatham-Kent police reported a 44-year-old man driving a pickup truck was killed in the crash at Jeanettes Creek Road and Coutts Line around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
