Heavy rainfall expected in many regions

Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to move across southwestern Ontario this weekend.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for several regions including Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent, Windsor-Essex, London-Middlesex, and Oxford and Elgin Counties.

The national weather agency said heavy rainfall is expected to start Saturday evening with up to 50 millimetres of rain expected in some areas.

It's possible that rainfall warnings will later be issued.

However, conditions are expected to improve by Sunday.
