UPDATE: More wet, stormy weather on the way for southwestern Ontario

Southwestern Ontario was subject of another good soaking on Thursday.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, Sarnia-Lambton, London-Middlesex, Oxford, and Elgin.

Throughout the day, showers and thunderstorms moved across the region with some storms capable of dropping 30 to 50 mm of rainfall.

Just after 6 p.m, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for  London-Middlesex, Strathroy and Komoka, Chatham-Kent-Rondeau Park, and Sarnia-Lambton and Elgin counties. The warnings and special weather statements ended for all areas by mid-Thursday evening.

The wet weather will continue into Friday with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Sunshine and a daytime high of 25 C are forecast for Saturday.
